Real-time strategy classic StarCraft may not be quite as fashionable as it once was, so it's perhaps no surprise that the next title in the series is going to be a console-only arcade game. This is not to say that this new tactical action game has no connection to the old ones--far from it: every single unit from the RTS title is featured here, including the eponymous ghosts--gun-wielding psychic stealth assassins from the Terrans' army.

You take control of a specific ghost called Nova and have to uncover a sinister plot linking a group of Terrans (humans) to the Zerg (evil space aliens). The game looks and plays a bit like a more action-packed version of Metal Gear Solid, with tons of gadgets and weapons to ensure you keep hidden and your enemies stop breathing.

On top of sniper rifles, cloaking devices and air strikes you also get to use various psychic abilities to not only defeat the bad guys but to give you special powers and athletic ability. The game looks great and controls excellently but what really makes it interesting is the wide range of ways you can complete a level, with lots of different options depending on how stealthy or aggressive you're feeling at any one point. All of which makes this a game to look out for. --David Jenkins
